This classification is generally based on the aromatic content of these hydrocarbon oils. Aromatic oils have the highest plasticizing activity followed by naphthenic and then paraffinic. However, aromatic oils are most staining while paraffin's oils are least staining. The selection of these oils in rubber compound is decided by the various factors such as degree of plasticization required, extent of staining, compatibility with polymers etc.
The Product performance meets IS 15078– 2001 Specification.
Plasticizers
Dioctyl phthalate (DOP) DOTP, is clear, colourless, viscous liquid with a slight, characteristic odor. Soluble in ethanol, ether, mineral oil and the majority of organic solvents. Immiscible with water, resistant to hydrolysis and air oxygen activity. Its high plasticizing efficiency, fusion rate, viscosity, low volatility, UV-resisting property, water-extracting proof, cold-resisting property, and also good softness and electric property found a lot of applications in many offshoots of the industry.
The Product performance meets IS 9591: 1996 Specification.
